We have made this application of the book Mind, Character and Personality, by the Adventist Christian writer who lived more than a hundred years ago and left a legacy of educational and spiritual books for all people to learn more about God's will in our lives.

Dealing with minds is the greatest work ever entrusted to men. The self-esteemed teacher will allow God to mold and discipline his mind.

The mind has to be disciplined, educated, prepared; because men have to render service to God, in diverse ways that are not in harmony with the innate inclination. Principles that are as high as the heavens and that encompass all eternity are to be understood in their relation to daily life.

No science is equivalent to that which develops the character of God in the life of the student. There are tendencies to evil, hereditary and cultivated, which must be overcome.

Appetite and passion are to be brought under the control of the Holy Spirit. It is the duty of every Christian to develop the mind. God takes men as they are, and educates them for his service, if they want to give themselves to him.

The Spirit of God, received into the soul, vivifies all its faculties. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit, the mind, unreservedly consecrated to God, develops harmoniously, and is strengthened to understand and fulfill what God requires.

The science of a pure, integral and consistent Christian life is obtained through the study of the Word of God. Men are to become subjects of the kingdom of Christ.

So spiritual is the character of God's work on the human heart that receives it that it makes each one a new creature without destroying or weakening any ability or capacity that God gave to man. Every morning consecrate yourself, soul, body and spirit to God. A person's talents are of maximum utility only when they are brought under the complete control of the Spirit of God.

Knowledge and science must be vitalized by the Spirit of God in order to serve the noblest purposes. Then everyone will worship the God of science. When Christ dwells in the heart through faith, we will be wise in the sight of God.
As we were bought by the Son of God, we are his property, and we should all be educated in the school of Christ. Teachers have to deal with human minds, and they are responsible before God to impress upon those minds the need to know Christ as a personal Saviour.

The mind should be carefully and wisely taught to dwell on Bible truth. The result of education should be to enable us to understand the voice of God. God's demands must be stamped on the conscience. They must recognize that all the faculties of their mind and of his body are gifts of God and that they must keep them in the best possible condition to serve him.

Good health, sound minds, and pure hearts are not considered of first importance in homes. Many parents do not educate their children to be useful and to fulfill their duties, therefore in schools we should worry about educating children for a life to come, that what is formatted on this earth, can serve us for the new world.
